2024 Wedding Trends

Wedding season is here again, and like every year, the trends for weddings have changed along with societal fashions and interests. If you’re looking for your wedding to be on-trend, we have a few of our absolute favourite trends of the year to share, and they’re perfect regardless of the season you’re getting married in!

Grazing Table

A grazing table has been a popular trend on social media and events for a while now, and the trend has now tipped over into weddings for a fun and social way to eat with your loved ones. A grazing table is a beautifully arranged selection of meats, cheeses, crudites, bread, crackers, antipasti, fruits, vegetables, and dips where guests can help themselves and mingle without the formality of a sit-down dinner. Think of it as a charcuterie board on a bigger scale! Lay out some gorgeous serving boards and platters, use mason jars to display breadsticks, and accent the lot by weaving through floral garlands for a delicious and aesthetically pleasing dining option.

Drone Photography & Videography

Using a drone for photos and videos has grown in popularity as they can capture shots that most standard cameras and photographers can’t, such as large aerial images to show off the grandeur of your wedding venue, capturing large groups from above to get more people into the frame, and showing the bride’s dress from unique and spectacular angles – imagine how beautiful the train will look when fanned out and viewed from above! Drones are perfect for outdoor weddings and can work harmoniously with the ground photographer to create a visual feast for your wedding album. However, ensure you ask permission from the venue to use a drone beforehand.

Retro Wedding

It’s no secret that fashions and trends come back around, and now, 60s and 70s fashions are in vogue. Retro weddings are buoyed by popular new TV shows, such as Daisy Jones and the Six, and vintage fashions are a great way to express your strong sense of identity and help you to feel comfortable through nostalgia. Vintage and retro fashions can also be eco-friendly, as many genuine retro items are sold second-hand through charity and vintage shops and popular re-selling apps. They are often cheaper than new and second-hand items and have a smaller eco-footprint. If you’re looking for more ideas for your retro wedding, browse our article here.

Ribbons & Bows

Ribbons and bows are classic yet contemporary and incredibly versatile. Use large bows to create drama, modernity, an eye-catching focal point, or smaller dainty bows for a sweeter, more romantic look. They’re perfect for wedding dresses, wedding shoes, hair accessories, as an accent to tie together bouquets, and as wedding venue décor. Ribbons and bows are available in different materials, such as velvet or satin, and various gorgeous colours, so you can find the perfect combination to suit your wedding theme.

Permanent Wedding Favours

The days of sugared almonds in organza bags as a wedding favour are long gone. Nowadays, couples want to give guests a more permanent keepsake of their big day. Some options include mini vases with their guests’ names engraved, personalised wildflower seeds so you can keep a garden blooming in remembrance of the wedding, or tealights and candles with personalised labels or ceramic hangings. Keepsakes like these will ensure your guests take home a memory they can return to long after the wedding whilst being meaningful to their home décor, garden, or stationery collections.
