Winter Wonderland

Perfect for those that love the glitz and the glamour, your wedding can twinkle and shine with a winter wonderland wedding. Utilise white, silver and icy blue shades to create something truly magical. Using twinkling lights, snowflakes and white pillar candles to decorate your venue is a simple way to create a luxurious feel. You can make beautiful centrepieces by adding white floristry into glass vases filled with decorative petals and even glitter for a real show-stopping effect.

Rustic

Perfect for those who love nature, a rustic theme is a great way to incorporate the outdoors into your wedding. You can use green foliage to decorate chairs, tables and even the altar to create a beautiful bucolic setting. Wood slices will make a highly versatile decoration at a rustic wedding; they can be used as placemats, as a base for centrepieces and much more. Another great way to bring in some wooden textures is to use a board as your seating chart. To do this, get a sizeable rectangular bit of wood and write your seating plan on with a white chalk pen. Embrace the wintery natural world by using pinecones, holly leaves and spruce twigs amongst your decorative displays.

Christmas

Make the most of the season by incorporating a Christmas theme into your wedding. Consider bringing in accent tones of red and green in the flowers, wedding dress, corsage, or venue decor for a subtle festive feel, or go all out by incorporating Christmas decorations. You could set up Christmas trees on either side of the aisle, all draped in beautiful warm fairy lights, or hang winter wreaths around the venue on doors, walls and windows. You can even use wreaths to decorate the tables for your sit-down dinner. Another easy way to bring a Christmas element into your wedding is by using poinsettias and holly in your bouquet or walking down the aisle to your favourite Christmas song or carol.

Of course, no Christmas wedding would be complete without mistletoe! This festive staple plant has romantic connotations that are perfect for a winter wedding. Hang it from the ceiling, tie sprigs to chairs, or include mistletoe in your hairpiece. Not only is it a gorgeous plant, but the sage green tone is popular for weddings and easy to coordinate.

Extras

Add the perfect finishing touch to your wedding by incorporating a hot drinks station at the venue. Place lots of mugs, hot chocolate, coffee, tea, and even mulled wine or mulled cider on a table for your guests to help themselves so they keep warm into the evening. You can add some baileys, whiskey or flavoured liqueurs so people can create their own hot tipsy beverage. Another great way to keep your guests warm is to place baskets with blankets around the venue.
